Season 1
The first planting season at Tangiaro, near Port Charles, was full of energy, even with heavy rain falling throughout the day. Students from Trident High School in Whakatāne, spending several weeks at Hillary Outdoors, joined Moehau Environment Group to prepare and plant a reserve area that will be added to over the years and will grow into a special green space for the community. Despite the weather, these super kids showed up with smiles and muddy hands, proving that nothing can stop kaitiakitanga in action.

On the Ground
Rain-soaked shoes, muddy gloves, and plenty of laughs, it was all part of the day. With Moehau Environment Group returning each year alongside students from Hillary Outdoors, this reserve will grow with them, becoming a living reminder of their mahi and their connection to this place. Different hands, same kaupapa: planting for future generations.
