We’re all about ensuring tourism in Hauraki Coromandel gives back more than it takes, supporting the environment, our communities and everyone who visits.

If you have a planting project where visitors and locals can connect with and experience, we’d love to hear from you. By becoming a planting site, your location will be featured on the Hauraki Coromandel Travel App and thecoromandel.nz, giving visitors, locals and businesses the chance to donate trees directly to your project.

About GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL – Kaitiaki

GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL – Kaitiaki enables businesses, visitors, and locals to support biodiversity in Hauraki Coromandel by donating native trees for local planting projects. Each tree is eco-sourced locally, and $1 from every tree goes towards predator control to help achieve a predator-free Hauraki Coromandel.

Criteria for Planting Sites

  • Planting must be connected to a visitor experience (e.g. a trail, tourism venture, or community space where people can engage with nature).

  • Sites must have the capacity and space to plant at least 100 native trees annually.

  • We provide the trees only. Site preparation, planting day organisation, and ongoing maintenance are the responsibility of the planting site.

  • Health and safety measures must be in place for all planting activities.
