GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL - Kaitiaki is a regional initiative grounded in kaitiakitanga, caring for the land, sea and community that make Hauraki Coromandel so special.

It brings together visitors, locals and businesses to give back in practical ways, through native tree planting and predator control. Every contribution helps restore habitats, strengthen wildlife corridors and support the long-term health of the region.

Whether it’s adding a tree at booking, supporting a local planting project or sharing the story, everyone has a role to play in protecting what makes this place unique.

Why It Matters

Nature is at the heart of Hauraki Coromandel, it shapes our landscapes, supports our communities and draws visitors from around the world. But like many special places, these ecosystems face ongoing pressure from habitat loss, introduced predators and climate impacts.
