The King of the Mountain returns to Pāuanui — a 7.7 km summer classic that hits twice as hard as the distance suggests.
From dunes to summit, stairs to roots, coast to bush, this is the Pāuanui ritual that kicks off the year with heat, heart, and a whole lot of grit. Starting at the Surf Club, runners charge over dunes, climb the Summit Track, drop into Cave Bay, hop across Flat Rock and weave through bush before a final dash home.
One morning. One summit. No fluff .... just pure effort, coastal energy, and the satisfaction of conquering a true Coromandel challenge.
